A 9th Doubles victory of the season secured Upnor the narrowest of wins against visitors Sturdee 2. Two wins each for Upnor's Peter Worthington and Dave Gracey were matched by Sturdee's Nicky Stokes and Ken George (who came back from 2 legs down to beat Worthington). The other crucial point was won by Paul Werlemann when he confirmed Mehdi Golchehreh's winless evening in game 8. This win doubled Paul's total for the season after some close games.
